Est. MMXVIII · Small-group travel · Eight journeys, a year

Small journeys,
carefully made.

We design slow, considered itineraries for travelers who'd rather walk a quiet valley than board a bus. Eight trips a year. Maximum ten guests each.

Our philosophy

Travel, rearranged.

Most tour operators sell sights. We design days. The long lunch at a farmhouse table. The four-hour walk where you stop and swim. The morning spent drinking coffee with the local guide who grew up in the next valley.

Our journeys run with a maximum of ten guests. They're built around the rhythms of the place — the market days, the weather windows, the seasons you'd miss if you were in a hurry.

Eight carefully chosen regions · 84 trips run to date · 642 happy travelers.

Field Notes

Essays from the road.

All essays →
Note 042 · Italy

On walking slowly in the Dolomites, with Giada.

Our local guide on why her grandmother's generation walked this path in silence — and what you learn by doing the same.

Note 041 · Japan

The 88-temple path, stripped of ceremony.

Five days on the Shikoku pilgrimage without pretense — what the real walkers carry, and what they leave behind.

Note 040 · Oaxaca

Sunday in Tlacolula — a market, a grandmother, a mole.

The particular, unhurried Sundays that make a week in Oaxaca feel twice as long as it is.

Our guides

Fourteen people who made this home.

Our guides aren't generalists sent from a call center. They grew up in these valleys, studied these mountains, cooked in these kitchens.

Every journey is led by two: one local, one Kinfolk. The stories you hear are their own.

We'd done three or four "luxury" tours before. This was the first trip that felt like we were travelers, not cargo. Two weeks later, we booked Patagonia.
