UTIs, sinus infections, rashes, pink eye — anything that shouldn't wait for your next appointment.

Learn more →

01

Tell us what's going on

A short intake — not a 40-page form. Symptoms, history, current meds. Takes about 90 seconds.

02

Meet your doctor

Connect by video (or phone, if you'd rather) with a board-certified physician. No "the next available provider" — you'll see the same name each time.

03

Care in hand

Prescriptions sent directly to your pharmacy. Lab orders to the closest Quest or LabCorp. Follow-up notes in your inbox by the time you hang up.

"I booked at 7:42pm. By 8:06pm I had a diagnosis, a prescription at the pharmacy around the corner, and a follow-up scheduled for next week. Somehow, it also felt calmer than my old clinic."

What our members are saying.

"I was dreading finding a new PCP after moving. Lumen connected me with Dr. Rao on a Tuesday evening and she's been my doctor ever since. It feels like real healthcare, not a call center."

"My son had an ear infection Sunday night. We were on with a pediatrician in 14 minutes. Amoxicillin at the 24-hour Walgreens by 9pm. No ER co-pay, no three-hour waiting room with a toddler."

"Therapy was finally something I could actually keep up with. Sessions fit between meetings. Dr. Park follows up with notes, which sounds small but genuinely changed the outcome for me."

FAQ

Common questions.

Do you take insurance? +

Yes. We accept Aetna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and most state Medicaid plans. You can also skip insurance entirely — our $49 flat fee is usually cheaper than an in-network copay.

What if I need an in-person visit? +

About 8% of our visits end with a referral — we've partnered with local clinics in every market we serve. Your Lumen physician coordinates the referral and shares your records, so you never start from scratch.

Can you prescribe controlled substances? +

We can prescribe most non-controlled medications. For certain controlled substances (e.g. ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines), federal regulations require an in-person evaluation — we'll help you find one nearby and continue your care afterward.

Is this HIPAA-compliant? +

Fully. We're HIPAA and HITRUST certified, and we publish a quarterly transparency report on how your data is stored, handled, and shared (short version: it isn't, except with providers you explicitly authorize).

Is this right for an emergency? +

No — please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, stroke symptoms, or any other true emergency. Lumen is designed for non-emergency care.
