Kinetic runs short, cohort-based courses taught by working practitioners. You ship real work, get real feedback, and leave with a portfolio piece — not a certificate.

How Kinetic works

A structure built for finishing.

01.

Small cohorts, live sessions

8–24 students per cohort, two live calls a week with your instructor. No pre-recorded MOOCs. No watching on 2x speed at midnight.

02.

Weekly shipped projects

You ship a piece of real work every week. By week four you have a portfolio. By the end, a body of evidence that actually convinces a hiring manager.

03.

Feedback that means something

Your instructor and peers give you written, specific, usable feedback within 48 hours. The kind of feedback that actually changes how you work.

04.

Alumni network that stays

When you graduate you're in a Slack of 11,200+ working makers, a private jobs board, and quarterly in-person meetups in six cities.

Alumni stories

People who showed up, shipped, and didn't stop.

"I'd been 'trying to switch into product' for three years. Six weeks of PM for Technical Founders, one portfolio, one offer. It wasn't the hype — it was the homework."
Adaeze Nwosu
Now: PM, Ramp · PM for Tech Founders, '24
"The writing course ruined me — in a good way. I can't write filler anymore without hearing Lena's voice in my head asking what, specifically, I am trying to say."
Tomás Restrepo
Now: Content Lead, Linear · Writing Tight Product Copy, '23
"I'd taken three other 'cohort courses' before. Kinetic was the first that treated me like a working adult, not a student to keep engaged. That changed everything."
Jasmin Holloway
Now: Sr. Designer, Figma · Calm Interfaces, '25

Common questions

Before you apply.

How is Kinetic different from Maven, On Deck, or a course on Udemy? +

Kinetic instructors are working practitioners at well-known companies, not professional teachers. Our courses are short (4–10 weeks), heavily project-based, and capped at 24 students per cohort. We focus on one narrow skill per course rather than broad overviews.

What's the time commitment? +

4–8 hours per week: two 90-minute live sessions, plus a weekly project. Most students do their projects on weekends. Sessions are recorded if you have to miss one, but missing more than two means dropping the cohort.

Will my company reimburse this? +

Usually yes. 74% of Kinetic students are reimbursed through their L&D budget. We'll send you a pre-written reimbursement email and a template proposal to share with your manager.

What if the course isn't right for me? +

Full refund in the first two weeks, no questions asked. After that, pro-rated credit toward a future cohort.

Find a cohort. Ship real work.

Applications are open for all Summer '26 cohorts. Most fill within a week — we'd recommend starting with the one you're closest to.
